Broekman extends yard management contract
Netherlands based Broekman Automotive, major car distributors handling up to 400,000 vehicles per annum, have confirmed the renewal of their contact with Vehnet, market leading outbound finished vehicle logistics software specialists, for a further three years.
Broekman operates Vehnet’s automotive yard management software at their extensive Car Terminal in Rotterdam, Holland, optimising productivity through;
- Real time process and location control.
- Automated yard and workshop management.
- Intelligent back office administration.
“Vehnet has changed the way we work,” confirms Wim Milder, Managing Director Broekman Corporate Division. “We have moved from a ‘push’ to a ‘pull’ model, where we have much greater control over our processes. We deal with ten different brands and high vehicle volumes, which requires EDI interfacing with multiple customers. The new system allows us to do this effectively, providing total visibility of our operation, improving efficiency and saving costs, ultimately enabling us to deliver better services to our customers.”
He added, “Vehnet has worked with us to configure a specialised system that meets our precise requirements, and we are about to embark on Phase II of the installation project, which will include further scheduling and capacity planning. The extension of our contract with the company is a measure of the confidence we have in Vehnet.”
